    Default Power button on Taskbar

1st, credit for this goes to Don in another Forum.

This is exactly like the Power button I told y'all about that went in the Sys Tray but, would not work on the RP. THIS WILL!! Only difference is it sits on the Taskbar & that's ok. Just great to have it @ one's immediate fingertips not, > Charmsbar > Settings.
Needless to say, I'm using this. I asked twice that the Win8 Build Team do this... hope we see it in RTM.

BTW, myself, I just used the (default) Power (button) icon, same as the Power button, lol. I did change the name to Power (instead of JumpControl.exe -Shortcut)

    Cheers,
    Drew

No installation required for this one.
Easy to configure, can be Pinned to Start Screen, Start Menu & Taskbar
You can rename & change the Icon to your liking.

Many Thanks for yet another useful idea, Drew!

I like all of the offered options with this taskbar shortcut. Pass the thanks on to Don for me also.

Just cleaned up a few redundant installs on my HDD & clean installed 8 RP again. More than likely, this will be it's home, the final Retail version of Win 8 Pro x64 + Media Center. It's nice to have a tidy desktop, I don't like clutter at all. This also applies to my browser, I despise unneeded toolbars.

You're welcome & I'll tell, Don. It is a nice touch, indeed. Yep, like clean & tidy, too. Yours is looking much nicer, now.

    Cheers,
    Drew

    Drew,
What do you do if you want it to go away? IE10 just quit working when I started using this. Since its not an installed program what do you do?

Right click it & unpin it from taskbar.

Thanks, but unpinning it didn't solve my IE corruption problem. Reinstalled Window8. Problem solved. No more power button. I can live without it.

There are just so many alternatives to the Power Button, you do not need it. The Power Menu Drew recently mentioned works pretty well. So don't the Icons added to the Desktop.
