I use ie10 and Windows8 home basic 64-bit, and a serious problem disturbed me for a long time. Every time when I try to use ie10 will cause my desktop no any respond, and no matter I right-click or left-click are both cannot work, but I can use the toolbar. If I restart my computer the problem can fix, so I don’t use ie10 anymore…

Can you tell me what should I do to solve this issue? I am so appreciated.

I have the same issue. If I run IE 10 from the start page, it works fine. I've found that if you get stuck running it from the desktop, CTRL-ALT-DELETE will get you to the Task Manager so you can end the process for IE 10.

I use IE 10 quite well under Metro and classic UI.

I have the same issue.

4 months, and still no fix for this?

I would try a reinstall. Evidently something did not install correctly.

I tried that a few times. It hasn't worked in the past, but 4th time might be the charm. I've been using Chrome instead. I'm not a fan, but I just need my pc to do what it's supposed to, and it doesn't seem like Microsoft cares about desktop users anymore.

Mine is working great. The desktop is working just as it's supposed to be. Before installing again I would definitely download the ISO file again, burn it to a new DVD and clean install from the DVD. This will eliminate the possibility of a corrupt download.

I do not use the Metro UI or Metro IE 10 at all. I have set mine up to always use the desktop IE 10.
