Default USB Ports Working Incorrectly, Windows 8 Crash

    Hi everyone,

3-4 weeks ago, i upgraded to windows 8 beta 64 bit from windows 7 Ultimate and every part works very well. after that , the USB Ports will recognize things in Windows 8, but the wireless adapter that is always on in the USB ports and will crash within a random amount of time. that's forced me to restart the computer. However, when it reaches the Shutting Down screen, it will stay there forever. I left it on for over a day trying to shut down at a point. Finally, it forces me to hold down the power button to shut it off, which I would imagine is not healthy.

i know all of them was caused by a USB port with my own experience. can you come up a fix for this?

thanks in advance for your any hints or instructions.

I'm getting the exact same problem, changed the usb ports and still does the same thing.

If it's useful info, it seems to happen when I do multiple things at once.

Like watching a movie while waiting for something to download and I store all of my data on an external drive which is where videos go to as well.

I've already replaced my power supply to one that's around double what it needs.

What beta version are you using of windows 8? The only one available to use is the Enterprise Edition. With using a beta version, of anything, it's going to be buggy, missing some functionality and so on. That's why it's a beta, it's not complete.

For me, when I test a new OS, I partition a hard drive and install the OS to be tested on the newly created partitioned drive, which creates a dual boot scenario. Then make sure I have all the necessary windows 8 drivers installed, bit specific, if they are available, if not use the windows 7 version bit specific and install in compatibility mode. Then install all the MS updates for the new OS to be tested. Then proceed to use the beta OS.

I'm using a legit copy of Windows Pro, not beta, forgot to mention that.

I bought it when they had it for sale.
