    Default Google search

I had some trouble with maleware that keep me from being able to go to this site. So I went to a browser that was uninfected and searched for this site! Google search and bing are burying this site! I could not find this site at all. Finally copy the URL from my Email to find it. You need to do something to move you up on engine searches!

Unfortunately there is NO AV app that is 100%. I have had good luck with MSE and now WD, but I also have a multi-layered approach to security, using WD plus Malwarebytes Pro plus a S/W and H/W firewalls. I have never had a successful attack against my PC's.

I will send along a request to admin about the search engine problem.

Personally, I don't believe there is a problem.

I just typed "windows 8 forum" into the Google search engine and the very first result (and there were many) was this forum.
    Problem solved.

Malware can cause a lot of strange issues, or possibly none at all, until it's ready to do so. Which is why I highly recommend to run a Full scan with Malwarebytes monthly, at the very minimum. The Free version, which offers the user a 14 day trial of the Pro version, is fine for this. If the Trial version is accepted, it runs as the Full version & actively blocks known malware laden sites, by blocking the web page from opening.

There will be a warning to this in the Notification area, as long as the user selects to show them from the app.

That is great to know. Don't be surprised if you get a PM from admin asking the type of search words you used as I did forward this to him.

99% of success with any Search is knowing how to phrase your search. Just putting your search words inside of Quotes ("ccccc") can limit the number of search results, to what you want, eliminating that which you Don't want.

    Good Luck!

I've also found putting quotes on some searches to be effective, especially when there are likely to be hundreds of links to a search. Less relevant hits would be near the end, but may be exactly what I need. For example, this is how I found a recovery disk set for my Thinkpad, w/o the quotes, more were torrent sites, I wanted a legal set of disks for my computer.

There's nothing to lose & everything to gain by trying.
