    Default Locked out of Outlook

This morning, possibly last night, I believe someone hacked my Outlook account. Yesterday I sent several emails to which I expected a response. Today, when I opened Outlook I was advised that the account was blocked because someone had made "too many attempts to access the account w/o the correct password." I have already scanned my PC w/Malwarebytes and Webroot. Both reports came back clean. Where do I go from here?

A good place to start would be to go back into your Profile and put in your location, so we have a better idea of how to help you, knowing where you live.
For instance, if you're in Australia or India I won't direct you to a local service center. Eh?

Outlook? I thought that was a program in MS Office. ???

First, I should have said tried to hack my Outlook account. As far as I can tell the only damage that has been done is mail hasn't gone out or come in in about 18 hrs.

My profile, such as it is, is posted now.

Actually, I'm a bit confused (as you can likely tell) about Outlook. When I bought my PC last year it came preinstalled w/Win8.1/IE11. Outlook was just the mail app included w/the PC. Subsequently, I subscribed to Office 365, which includes Outlook but it apparently recognized that I had Outlook although I haven't done much with it just yet. Apparently Office recognized that I already had an Outlook account. I got Office about two months ago and this problem just came to my notice this morning so I don't think the two are related. I tried to launch Outlook from Office for the first time this afternoon and got an error message "a problem occurred and we could not launch the program" or words to that effect. Before, I always just launched Outlook from the Start page.

I imagine this is a question more properly directed at Microsoft, but I haven't a clue where I would start there. I just thought someone here may have encountered the problem and could tell me how to fix it.

Outlook, MS Office (or Office 365), OneDrive, OneNote, etc. They are all RELATED. A unified applications created by Microsoft. Outlook is the default mailing service for all Microsoft related stuffs. It is synonymous to Microsoft Account. It is used to access all your online and offline Microsoft accounts even your Windows 8 PC if you opt to use Microsoft Account when you boot up your PC. If you open your online outlook account, you can access all you files if you chose to sync it on the cloud. It will be saved on your OneDrive cloud storage.
