View Full Version : W8 confusion

I have a w8 phone and w8 laptop. maybe this is not the place for answers but I have to start somewhere. I am so confused, but I thought I was pretty pc literate.
Maybe my problems are not so much with w8 as it is with office 2013. I switched from IOS to w8 because I thought they would sync and communicate better. My contacts are very important. But after installing outlook 2013 I have 6000 instead of 1500. I looked at the MS community forums and it looks like they have changed, not for the better.
This forum looks much friendlier to use so I know I will be back with questions more pertinent to w8.

Yes...your thinking is correct, in that windows 8 is supposed to make windows 8 devices syncing a seamless and effortless task. The key words being"devices" and "syncing". A single platform across multiple devices from different vendors...what a great Idea. It's still in its infancy stage and in time will only get better. Now, with software syncing....that's a whole different can of worms. They're working on it....all we can do is wait.

We're here to help with any problem/issue anyone might have pertaining to MS OS's and if possible MS software.

Like the post above says it is in it's very early stages and is going to have some problems. It will get much better with time. We have to be patient and just hope for the best that they are working on it.

Gee, life was so much simpler in the DOS days, before Windows & cell phones.

At each step in the MS evolution, there have been problems that had to be worked out.
Some were only minor and some were HUMONGOUS!

The whole idea of having windows on a phone or in a car, is new and I'm sure it will take time to make it work seamlessly. I definitely do NOT want one of those first cars, run by MS Windows. Yikes!
Just one BSOD, could really ruin your day. Eh?

I know GM is working with MS to develop the first car with Windows..... Good luck boys!

Now what was the topic again?

An afterthought:

Isn't there a key that allows you to flip from Metro screen to desktop?
What if that key were stuck? Check it out.

I believe the key you are talking about is: "I".
