Hello, I've just had to re-install W8, only for some reason the tiles appear to be smaller, than from the previous install, as are all of the in App text/images. I'm sure that there is an easy solution to this, but an hour of trying various settings options and searching the internet has left me none the wiser. Can anybody help, please?

I believe that you can change the number of row on the start screen in the registry, if that's what you mean.

You need to go to the bottom left hand corner and right click, then open the command prompt.
Next type in regedit and hit return.
This should open the registry.
Next navigate to:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cu rrentVersion\ImmersiveShell\Grid by using the bar at the left.
You now need to create a new D-WORD value here and name it "Layout_MaximumRowCount."
Finally change the value to somewhere between 1 and 5 to choose the number of rows on the start screen.

This worked for me but I'm not guaranteeing that it'll work for you.

If that isn't what you meant could it be that your computer has just changed the screen resolution for some unknown reason in which case you just need to open the desktop, right click the click on screen resolution. You could try playing about with that, see if that helps.

Thank you for your help.

It looks as though it the screen resolution that makes the difference I'm after, I was hoping that Microsoft had programmed in the ability to make such adjustments, rather than having to change the entire appearance. You never know, maybe that is something that will be adjusted in a later patch.

Thanks again.
