I have downloaded the netflix app on my windows 8 pc but it seems like when i go into every specific genre it shows me only a limited amount of movies compared to using a web browser on windows 7. Am i missing something or is this a bug? Isnt that kinda stupid to create an app that does not show everything? Im quite sure there's a way to that can anyone please look into this as im getting very frustrated. I can scroll a certain amount of movies and after that it just stops and windows 8 wont allow me to use the browser version.

Thanks

neoitd, Welcome to the Forum!

Netflix, though they may allow limited viewing for you, there's a reason for it. It's a paid service, Netflix isn't free, they're letting you get a taste of the app, so that you can see what you're getting before purchasing.

If Netflix was totally free, that single app would justify anyone with a computer capable of running Windows 8 to upgrade. Windows 7, Vista & XP would fall in no time. Instead of 40 million licenses sold in a month (Drew posted this elsewhere), it would be more like 200 to 300 million in the same span, as many have switched to online purchasing of movies, rather than riding to the store, wasting gas, & on new releases, they may or may not have what you want.

Netflix is a for profit corporation, not the public library, where most everything is free. However, there are some Free Movie/TV options in the Windows Store available to you.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I didnt mentioned that I have a paid subscription to Netflix as I would assume that everyone would understand what I mean when I can access the entire library in my web browser in windows 7. I jz bought a windows 8 pc and it forces me to use the netflix app and not through my browser. I really do appreciate the help but please if anyone could help me look further into this. Thanks

neoitd, thanks for the followup, didn't know that you already have a paid subscription. I'm not a subscriber of the app, so I have no idea of how it works.

Have you visited their Customer Service for any answers? It's likely that others who has moved forward to Windows 8 are having the same issue. Out of 40 million Windows 8 users, surely this is has been an issue for other subscribers.

Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable with the app will step forward with a solution. Keep checking back, & don't forget to visit/call their Customer Service center about the issue. If you do find the answer, please post it here, so that the membership will have access to it.

Best of Luck,
Cat

I'm having the same problem, and as for the second comment; useless, you can't use the app without a subscription, the app is atually hiding content, i go to the anime section, it shows me a 3x10 grid, nothing more to scroll through, i don't see a show i know is there cause i just watched it on my ps3's Netflix, i search for it using the charms menu, and omg there it is and its categorized under anime! well gee i then click on the anime button from the shows menu and it's still not on the list! am i missing a setting or something? if i click on a genre i expect to see everything, that's what its for, if i wanted shorter lists, i'd go to the top ten and and the recommended based on sections! tell me there is a fix!

I clicked onto the link on the Netflix app (in the 1st group, Top Free, the middle choice). Here's the link to the site, customer service. They should be qualified to answer any customer service related inquiries.

https://signup.netflix.com/

Explain that you're upgrading to Windows 8 Pro, or are buying a new computer with Windows 8, which ever the case may be.

Sorry, I don't know much about these paid subscriptions, because I don't bother with them. Perhaps there's others who does, but I do highly advise first giving their Customer Service a call, being that the subscription is being transferred to another OS or computer.
