Hey,I am upgrading my windows 7 basic to windows 8 pro and I am having problem while installing it......I downloaded windows 8 pro and chose to upgrade by keeping all the personal files, apps and windows setting .when I am installing it,the setup is completed 100% and then it prepares the system and that it also completed but suddenly it shows an error saying that windows 8 installation could not be completed, please try again.
I have installed it two times once using a USB flash drive and second time directly but both the it's showing the same......PLS HELP!!!!

You cannot go from Win 7 basic to Win 8 Pro unless you do a clean install. Select Save Nothing, then select the option to Install from removable media. Choose your media and burn the ISO file.

I had the same problem. I have no interest in upgrading now or ever if I cannot save my previous settings and software. Way way way too much hassle. I would like to simply have my money refunded. I can't find any information about how to do this. I bought the software as a direct download from microsoft and even though I was provided a receipt there is no mention of how to get a refund. Could you provide a link to obtain a refund please?
