I did it in Win-7, by transplanting just one file from Vista, but so far I've not found a way to Activate WinMail in Win-8.
Win-8 does not respond to the same tweak that works in Win-7. MS scores one again!

If someone else can find it, they will be my friend for life.
I found one web site, that offered to divulge the secret of activating WinMail in Windows 7, for only $29.95. Wow! What a total rip off! I share that info for free, to anyone who wants it. Gladly!
During my search, I found my own posts on 'Lockergnome.com' .
