Hi all,

I tried to install a graphics driver for NVIDIA 9400M and it kept on failing. When I restarted to try another version, the screen just keeps on flashing as if is trying to install a driver. I cannot use windows 8 now.

Do you have good suggestion? Thanks.

Best Regards,

You might try a Refresh install of Win 8 (http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-refresh-or-reset-your-windows-8-pc-complete-guide/). Be sure you choose Refresh, NOT Reset.

I removed windows 8 now though because it was giving me hard drive errors.

Thanks for the response.

Prase, sorry to hear that. What type of hard drive errors were you getting? Was the HDD new, or one known to be in good condition to begin with?

Today's HDD's don't have to be old to fail, they just do. Which probably explains the reduced warranties on most models. Samsung/Seagate has for the most part, gone to 1 year warranties, so has Hitachi (which is now a part of the WD family). Even the newcomer in this department, Toshiba, their offerings are mainly covered for 1 year.

Plus, I've found that the 1TB + HDD,s are better suited for storage. Smaller drives tends to be better OS install drives, usually a bit faster & more reliable.
