Hi all,

I just installed the Windows 8 Relase Preview on my Dell XPS 15 and I ordered the upgraded display with multi-touch. When I tap my screen the system doesn't respond to any touches I have to use my touchpad or an external mouse. The touchscreen works in Windows 7. The only compatibility warning I got when the installer did the check was that it may not be as responsive but it said that I should be able to use it. I did an upgrade install and moved all my files apps, and settings over.

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to our Forum. Since Win 8 RP is still in beta, it might very well be a drivers issue. The other thing could be a problem with an Upgrade install rather than a Clean Install. Many more problems have been occurring with this type install.

If you cannot find drivers that work, you might have to wait until Win 8 is released. Quite often these kind of problems have been fixed with Clean Installs.

I agree with Ted. Also, I suggest contacting Dell support to see if they can help you.

Thanks for answers, friends.

I have contacted Dell support for help. If they dont have any solution, I would like to wait for final release of windows 8.

That's only 'til 26/10 & Win8 is fine w/out Touch anyway, so you're ok for a while. Often have better results w/ clean installs.
