Hi all,

I'm a windows 8 user. I'm having a little problem with Adobe Shockwave Player on google chrome. Whenever I try to view any shockwave content on google chrome, I get the Message saying 'adobe shockwave player is required to display some elements on this page' and 'install plug in'. This happens every time I go to a page with sockwave content.

I heard it can be fixed by removing the 'Skype Click to Call plugin', but I don't even have skype installed. I also went to chrome://plugins and enabled the shockwave flash. I tried installing the shockwave player directly from adobe.com (version 11.6.5.635) but I still get the same message. Please help!

Any hints or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sarah, welcome to the Forum!

Seems like many Chrome users are having this issue, and has been for some time. I looked at the Google Chrome forums for a solution, there's more questions & confusion than answers there. Doesn't surprise me, considering their rush to dethrone Firefox. These are the kind of things that happens when one is pushing a new browser out the door 3 or 4 times a year.

But I may have found a solution for you, it's worth a shot anyway.
