Hi all,

Can you help me? When I try to install Windows 8, I get this error message:

A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD,DVD, or USB flash frive with the driver on it, please insert it now.

Note: If the installation media for windows is in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step.

Any ideas?

First, you are NOT installing Win 8, you are attempting to install Win 8 RP (beta OS). This is not yet complete. Do you still have your original OS installed? If not that was a mistake. Did you make an Image of your original setup? If not, mistake 2.

I would start over. Download the ISO file again, burn it to a DVD using a slow burn, and boot to the DVD and reinstall the entire OS.

Just be advised that since this is still a beta OS, it is not complete and thus does have problems.

Have you tried to re-download, re-burn and re-install it?

If yes and still have the issue, try these steps (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_install/installing-windows-8-error-msg-a-dvd-driver-your/4ecc4d8e-4ab0-4c8b-b9d3-3173d99b49bb?page=1).

Thank you. I have downloaded the RP OS file, burnt to DVD and installed. Now the issue has gone. Thank you very much!
