I was uploading photos on SkyDrive , Internet Explorer kept on crashing and reloaded the page without closing the application ... is there any fix ?....

This is a serious driver issue that needs to be addressed, otherwise, this issue is going nowhere. First off, did you try out Windows 8 CP (the earlier beta) & if so, was this an issue?

Secondly, a little more info on your computer, beginning with make & model, year it was built, the original (OEM installed) OS that was included. This is a minimal amount of info that's needed to see what can be done.

Did you actually download the SkyDrive desktop app (http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/microsoft-releases-skydrive-desktop-app-updates-mobiles-apps-updates/). I did and it seems to work well. It worked with IE 10 and it seems to work with FF V14.

Actually, I'm more concerned with the driver issue, at this point. omprakash paliwal, is there anything else other than SkyDrive giving you any problems? That SM bus controller is needed for proper operation of your computer.

Let us know what's going on there. Any BSOD's?

no , there is no BSOD's till now . no window crashes . the only problem is with SM BUS CONTROLLER .
it's not updating

I m using HP pavilion G6 tx1117 model with 4 gb ram and 500 gb hard disk ... I installed Window 8 2 days ago . inever tried any erlier versions.

my laptop is 1 year old and my laptop was preloded with W7 home basic 64 bit .. I don't know the OEM no. now as I never tried how to .

I must tell you now, that HP is among the very worst for providing updates for any OS other than the installed one. I've looked & cannot find the drivers for this computer. Being that it runs Windows 7 Home Basic x64 out of the box, it's not for distribution in the US/Canada.

It's my hope that you've backed up your computer BEFORE this Windows 8 RP install, and/or created your recovery disks. They will be needed if you don't have a Full Backup of your computer. Please tell me that you have one or the other, or both. If not, contact HP ASAP to get a set of recovery disks. You may need them.

Or is this a dual boot install, which I hope? In any case, you need to be able to recover the original OS.

I installed the intel chipset driver( for SM BUS CONTROLLER) that came with my laptop preinstalled ... it worked fine .... there are crashes in internet explorer but not much of the time now ... it crashes when I upload a large no of photos ..... generally more than 300 file .. ..

omprakash paliwal, I have a suggestion for you. Being that Windows 8 RP is still in developmental stage, it may be best that you use your stable OS to do these important things with. Not all devices have full Windows 8 RP support yet, & there's nothing that can done, other than wait. The driver that you're missing has to do with networking, which is why this is happening.

While the pre-release OS has came a long way since 02/29, it's not totally ready for all computers yet. It's my hope, like I stated above, that you're either dual booting, or have a way to recover your OS (either through backup or recovery disks).

Just give it a little more time. These Windows 8 development releases came with warnings, they were NOT meant to replace your stable OS.
