Hi all,

I am here asking if is there a way to add the NetworkHDD to the collection of the Music/Video Player in windows 8 RP?

I have a big Network HDD where all my Music and Video files are located. With the Zune Software i could just add the Folders of the Network HDD to the collection and it worked like a charm. But now i can't find a way to do it. I know i could add the Network Folders to the Explorer-Libraries with some Hardlink Voodoo Magic because they can't be indexed but there should be an easy way to add other Locations!

Thanks.

Win 8 RP is still a Beta OS. There is a big chance that the Music/Video player is a part of the incomplete apps.

Be advised when Win 8 is actually released for sale, the Media Center will only be available in Win 8 Pro edition for an extra cost. Media Player will still be included for all Win 8 versions but will only be capable for CD playback. There is no guarantee at this time that Network shares will work the same as they do on Win 7.

Hi Julia, welcome!

In case you are having Zune Music player and you are using Zune software to sync the music from the n/w drive , I suggest posting your problem on website of Zune.

MS is dropping Zune in Win 8 (http://www.theverge.com/2012/2/24/2821128/microsoft-kills-zune-windows-live-branding-in-windows-8) shortly. They will be replacing ir with another app.
