Hello there,

When connected to the internet, the network icon at the taskbar is showing yellow triangle with '!' mark. In metered internet connection like mine, it is a problem as every time I have to check whether the Internet is running or not. And in the Start Screen, the application those need Internet connection like Weather, Maps, or Games etc. when I am opening them they are showing "You are not connected to internet" or "No internet connection found" though I am connected to Internet through a Broadband connection.

Is there any solution?

BTW, I am talking about windows 8 CP.

I am not an expert at networking, so I cannot help with that, but I have found Win 8 RP (the newest beta release) has fixed many problems with Win 8 CP. This might also solve your problem. Follow the steps outlined here (http://www.forumswindows8.com/installation-setup/steps-install-win-8-rp-when-released-read-before-you-download-iso-file-6411.htm).

I have 3 suggestion for you.

1. Run the Network and Internet troubleshooter and check if that helps.

2. Update the drivers for the Network adapter and check if that helps.

3. Update the network adapter driver from the computer manufacturer’s website on your computer in Windows 8 by choosing the compatibility level as Windows 7.

My suggestion would be to move forward to Windows 8 RP. It offers so much more, many of the features that doesn't work in CP does on RP.

Windows 8 Download, Windows 8 Release Preview Download, Windows 8 RT Download,Windows 8 ISO (http://www.forumswindows8.com/windows-8-download/)

Download it using a download manager, such as this one, for best results.

Download Internet Download Manager 6.11 Build 8 - FileHippo.com (http://www.filehippo.com/download_internet_download_manager/)

Then burn it at a slow rate (4x max) for best results. And do a Clean install, listed as "Custom", avoid the Upgrade install, as that is for most, one huge PITA. So many of the posts on this site has to improper install methods. By doing it right the 1st time, your success rate of having a useable OS is much higher.

Be sure to backup any important data (bookmarks, pics, etc) before installing the new version. Post back if you need assistance.

Be advised that at some point in time (The time frame is not 100% known) Win 8 CP and indeed Win 8 RP will deactivate. We believe this deactivation will occur sometime after the release of Win 8 this fall.

Perhaps the drivers outlined by threeone will solve your problem, perhaps not.

You may find other parts of Win 8 CP do not work very well. The Metro apps, for example, are much more complete in Win 8 RP. There are other improvements as well.

Like I stated in my previous post & Ted seconded that, RP is your best choice. For your best Windows 8 Beta experience, I highly suggest to install this edition.

You'll also be able to get acquainted with the Metro Apps, one of Windows 8's greater features. If you have any intention on purchasing the OS, or considering buying a new Windows 8 computer upon retail availability, this is the one you want.
