Hello, I installed Windows 8 Preview on my Laptop. I use External Mouse and External Key board. After installation Keyboard and mouse was working, but next day it stop working. I looked around and the error identified that USB Driver was not installed. I called Manufacturer and they say that Windows 8 is not out, so we don't have Windows 8 Driver. I reinstalled Windows 7 64bit driver again anyway. It work for one day and stops again. Is there any solution to this Problem? Thanks.

I do not have any problems with my wireless mouse on Win 8 RP (I use the laptop keyboard). I have a Logitech Anywhere MX mouse with a small USB receiver. It works fine with Win 8 RP. Does your mouse manufacturer have a S/W app for the mouse. I'm not talking drivers, the default drivers worked fine for me, I'm talking an app. Logitech has an app called Setpoint for it's mice. Perhaps something like this would help.

Thank You for the reponse. I don't use any software in the past for USB. In Windows 7. I was using internal drivers. I assume Windows 8 would have internal drivers too. Besides, when I look USB through Device Manager, it says USB Driver is not installed. Some how Windows 8, built-in driver does not get installed. I was searching around that I could find Windows 8 general USB driver from Microsoft and I did not find anywhere. It seems Windows 7 diriver from manufacturer does not get installed on Windows 8, when I tried to install it.

I do not have any other ideas at this time. If you have attempted to install the Win 7 drivers and they would not install you might be out of luck with these devices and Win 8 RP.

Have you tried opening the Device Manager, uninstalling all USB ports, reboot & see if they reload? Sometimes this fixes the issue, sometimes it doesn't.
Your keyboard/mouse should have drivers of it's own. I also use Logitech SetPoint (setpoint632x64) for my keyboard, the same version that's for Windows 7 x64, my wireless mouse is a Microsoft one, it automatically installed InteliPoint software. This is a rather old wireless mouse by today's standards, it's receiver is about the size of many USB Flash drives, & to turn if off requires for the receiver to be removed & placed into it's storage compartment on the bottom of the unit. I believe it first became available in 2003/2004, but it works perfectly fine on all of my computers.

It came bundled with a Windows 7 Pro x64 OEM install kit in late 2010. But it works on most every Windows OS on the road today, & some long gone.
