lla, welcome to the Forum!

If you're trying to add music & think that your computer is recognizing your SD card adapter, it should work. If you can't add music to it, then it isn't working & needs checking out.

Is your adapter built in, or a USB one? A few members had issues with installing Win 8 CP, who had the built in card reader, though mine is fine.

Cat, thank you for your help.

I can't add music to it, so I think my computer can't recognize my sd card adapter.

Hopefully in the future, it will work out for you. It should.

Your thread just reminded me, I bought a Transcend USB Card Reader (TS-RDP5K) last month, it hasn't been removed from the package. I buy a lot of things when on promo & it may be months before being used. I don't have a problem with my built in one, but to transfer photos, I have to send the originals to My Documents, then send them back on my other (backup) SDHC card.

All of this transferring from the original SDHC card, to my HDD, then back to my backup card, is a PITA, not to mention possible image degrading. It's best to transfer straight from one card to the other.

Which brings to mention, most owners of digital devices which uses these type of cards has more than one card, yet still most OEM's provides only one SD card slot. Modern computers should have two built in.

Best of Luck,

Go to the PC manufacturer's site and find drivers for your SC Card reader. The Win 7 drivers may work. If not you are probably out of luck until the card reader manufacturer develops new drivers.

I pulled my card reader that I mentioned earlier, it works fine on Win 8 RP. Plugged it in & was available for use within seconds.

What is the brand & model of the card reader/adapter? We may can help to find drivers, although this type of item should be plug-n-play.

I actually had to download drivers from Sony's site to get my SC Card working in Win 7 and Win 8 RP. My PC originally came with Vista and the SC Card drivers were not included with my Win 7 Install.
