I installed the CP yesterday and didn't like the default setting for opening windows Explorer so I changed it.

Original "C:\Users\daws\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar"
Replaced with "%windir%\explorer.exe c:\" and in the Start In I put C:\

I then went into Explorer and in View menu I ticked the expand to open folder in the navigation section.

Hopefully this is something new. :)

Daws, did you install Win 8 CP or the newest release, Win 8 RP? If you did indeed install Win 8 CP, you might want to consider moving to Win 8 RP. It has numerous advances and fixes over Win 8 CP.

Could you expand a little further on this.

Did you replace the entire "C:\Users\daws\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar"

with "%windir%\explorer.exe c:\"

or just a portion of it?

Yes, I did replace the original c:\users etc etc with the Win7 windir/explorer/c\ line.

I guess there are other ways but I am still getting used to the new interface and us OLD devils take longer to adapt. :)
