View Full Version : How to set my pictures to show in the Photos App?
Hi all,
I have installed windows 8, but not use metro apps mostly. Now I am trying to run photo app.
My photos are saved on my PC through the Cloud and are in My Photos. I cannot see these pics on the Metro Photo App. I already went into properties to allow them to be indexed and it still doesn't work. The photos that are in the Metro Photo App are from a memory card and I can only see them if I click on them, otherwise they are a black box with an x in the corner.

The Metro apps are the most unfinished portion of this early beta testing OS. This beta OS is to be used for testing purposes only. Perhaps when Win 9 RP (the next beta version) is released today or tomorrow, some of the problems with the Metro apps will be fixed and they will be more complete.

I've installed the RP and I can't add media that I have shared from a NAS. I've tried the 'mklink' method of adding a non-indexed unc path to the library and within explorer I can view all the files on my NAS, however nothing is showing up in the metro apps :(
Thanks
Jim
Microsoft should improve Metro apps, not only increase the quantity of apps.

Sorry Jim. I not sure what could be happening with your system. My photos show up very well in my Metro Photo App. Unfortunately I do not know a lot about the Metro Apps. My screen shot shows 3 of my 147 pics. I can scroll through them all. Using the + or - symbol in the lower right corner I can change the viewing size as you see.

Perhaps you need to move the pics you want to view in the Metro App to your desktop. I do not know how to change the path to specify to look elsewhere other than the Pictures folder.

How can i 'unhide' the hidden tiles in the photo app?
EDIT: Figured it out.
