I installed the Windows 8 consumer preview on my ASUS EP121 Windows 7 tablet. The issue I have is the fact that the OS freezes a lot especially when the keyboard is maximized. Also, when I touch a text in put area in the non metro apps such as the non metro internet explorer, the keyboard doesn't appear, i always have to click on the keyboard icon on the task bar for it to come up first before I can touch the text input area and start typing.

Any help would be great.

Well, Win 8 RP will be out today or tomorrow. Shortly thereafter Win 8 CP will deactivate. Reinstall with a clean install.

Thanks, Ted. I would like to look around because RP is also a beta OS. If all uses say its good, sure, I will try.

Indications (rumors) are that the RTM will be out sometime in July. This is the version that is released to OEM PC builders. At that point the code is locked and there will be no further changes, just updates. Also rumored Win 8 will be released in September.

With these dates in mind, the code in Win 8 RP has to be close to final. Possibly just some tweaks in the system. The beta releases will eventually deactivate. I have not specifically heard the time frame for this, but again rumors are sometime in January.

I gotta ask... how did you dual-boot a tablet? **
