Hi,

Metro apps cant launch. For example, I would like to open music file by the music app, it shows the start up splash-screens for a few seconds and then disappear, then shows in the sidebar. Also, I get an error message that "Call was cancelled by the message filter". I know this should be related to the connection manager software for usb modem. Before I installed it, everything is ok.

I have tried to refresh the computer, but does not fix it. So Please help me. Hope get an fix that i dont need to unstall USB modem support. Thank you.

BTW, I did a clear installation of windows 8.

Exactly same here. Same problem I faced. . I expect some solutions for this.

The Metro apps are the most unfinished part of Win 8 CP. We expect them to be much more complete when Win 8 RP is released in about a week. This next beta OS will require a Clean Install. There is no upgrade path so be prepared.

Many of the problems encountered so far have been related to corrupted installs due to either Upgrades rather than clean installs (it's far superior to clean install and reinstall all your apps) or downloads of the iso file from non-approved sites (torrent sites). These unapproved sites are chronically poor choices for these type beta S/W.

The biggest misake I made is to do a clear installation of windows 8. Anyway, I have installed and I just wait for RP to install again. Thank you guys.
