Hi all,

I have been using Windows 7 PRO for one year. Yesterday I tried to install windows 8 consumer preview. I would like to install full installation. The installation stopped at 85%, meanwhile, I got a message that someting was wrong and that was impossible to complete the task.

Whats the problem? I am wondering if I should wait for installing windows 8 RP. What is your opinion? Just post here.

The problem is, if I'm understanding correctly what you are trying to do, is you cannot switch Win7 to Win8 BETA via Upgrade, #1. #2, IF, you are trying to do this as a clean install, you will live to regret it! Win8 CP is a BETA & expires shortly.
Ergo, if, you haven't, already, buggered your Win7, leave it alone. But, I worry, that if it went that far, the Win7 is, now, buggered. Just as an aside, where did you get the Win8 CP disc or how did you come by having it?

Cheers,
Drew

By the way, the next beta, Win 8 RP will be out in a couple of weeks. Shortly thereafter the Win 8 CP will deactivate. This next beta will require a Clean install.

I'm with Drew on this one. Reinstall you Win 7 and wait until Win 8 is released in October. Beta S/W should be tested by those who understand the ramifications of what to do when disaster strikes. How to recover from this disaster. You should never replace a released OS with a beta OS. Always test a beta OS on a spare HD or spare partition or in a VM.

Thanks for suggestions. I will consider carefully. Maybe RP would be a good choice. Just let me think about it. Thank you all.
