Hi everyone,

I am glad to meet you here. I have a problem about my CD/DVD drive. When i use CD/DVD drive, I receive a message, saying that Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)."

I want to update the driver to the latest version, but it says that that is the latest version and are already update.

more information: Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.

How can I fix registry error? Thank you.

I would try to go to Device Manager and delete the device then reboot Windows. When you reboot, Windows should see the new hardware and install drivers for it.

Please let us know if it works. There may be another fix we can try with filters.

Hi!

Open Command Prompt.

Run following command :

reg.exe add “HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Cont roller0” /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0×00000001

Hope this helps
