Hi,

I have no idea that this problem is caused by is MSE. Windows Update will not install the normal updates for Windows, since MSE has been installed. If I uninstall MSE Windows Update installs updates as normal. I have tested on other computer, same problem. So I am thinking this is a bug?

Any help will be appreciated.

MSE should not be installed on Win 8 CP. Win 8 CP includes Windows Defender V6 which is the MSE engine upgraded for Win 8. MSE is V4. MS recommends not installing MSE in Win 8 CP. WD is installed and enabled by default when you install Win 8 CP.
