I've been running the Windows 8 Developer preview. Now I upgraded to Windows 8 Consumer Preview. After a few days of up time, there is very distinct audio lag. Audio lag occurs sounding like a short cd music skip. The audio drags for just a moment and occurs with all audio, mp3, movie files, games, etc.

This is an issue that did not occur with Windows 8 Developer preview. Do you know what happen? Thanks.

First problem, you should never upgrade from one beta to another beta. In fact the Win 8 RP is due out in early June. We have been told there will be no Upgrade path. I suspect your problems are coming from this. I would go back and reinstall using a Clean Install.

You could try to get drivers for you sound card from the manufacturer, but most manufacturers have not produced new drivers yet. You could also try to install Win 7 drivers. These have worked for some.
