Hi
While not in the start screen but in the desktop , I can not search , its quite annoying to have to revert to the start screen.

It is not necessary to go to Start.

1. Nudge top or bottom right corners & Search (magnifying glass icon) from Charms Bar.
2. Win+Q = Search Applications
Win+W = Search Settings
Win+F = Search Files.

Top-left corner will go (back) to Desktop
Hitting Win Key will go (back) to Desktop

No need for Start.
