Hi all,

I just installed Windows 8 consumer preview and windows is saying that no audio devices were installed. I have a Thinkpad T61 and the the speakers work fine when I boot to a different operating system. I went to Lenovo and downloaded the audio driver for Win 7 and tried to install it but 3/4 of the way through it stops and says it cannot start the audio service.

Any ideas? Thank you!

You could try to start the service manually. If this does not work, you might have to wait until the Win 8 RP is released in early June.

Win + X, Run, Services.msc Search for the Windows Audio, double click and set to Start, Automatic.
