Hi all,

I am trying to install windows 8 comsumer preview. I have installed windows 8 with the activation key during installation. But still my computer properties shows that "it was not a genuine copy, please activate". but i dont know how to activate and also there is no command or button to enter any other keys.

Do you know whats wrong with it? Thanks.

If you downloaded the iso from a valid site and used the key provided from the site it is already activated. I would suggest downloading the iso file from MS directly (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/iso) burn it to DVD with a slow burn (Max 4X), write down the key shown on the site, and doing a Custom (Clean) install. I believe your install is corrupt or you downloaded form an unapproved site.
