Hi all,

I have a Samsung Slate 7 with windows 7. Now I would like to upgrade to windows 8. I patched my Slate with the latest Windows updates. I removed Microsoft Internet Security and Play Record as recommended by Microsoft. It goes thru the entire process until the very end where is displayed that it found some incompatibility with the hardware and restore my Windows 7 setting.

How do I get Windows 8 on my Slate?

Thanks.

Hope this helps.

-boot from an external DVD /created from the ISO/
- do a clean install
- delete all the partitions /if you dont care going back to win7/
- let the setup repartition the drive and finish the clean install

I do not know how this PC is set up or operates, but if there is a way to do it, I would suggest making an Image of the Win 7 OS prior to wiping and installing Win 8 CP. You should know, Win 8 RP will be released in early June, at which time another Custom (Clean) install will be required because Win 8 CP will deactivate shortly thereafter. Then again in October when the final version is released, a Custom (Clean) install will be required. You might want to develop a way to back up everything. Like I said, I do not know how the Slate works as far as connections to the outside world, etc. There has to be some method of accomplishing backups and Imaging.
