View Full Version : How to delete the picture in skydrive?
Hi all,
I have using skydrive only for two days. I dont know much about this app. I added one picture for test. Yes, its sync with the window live account and I can see this picture in my account. I am trying to delete it from skydrive. I cant see the delete option in skydrive app.

The only way I find to delete is to login my window live account, to select the picture, then to delete it on the right options. Is there any way that I can delete it through skydrive app? Thank you.

I haven't used SkyDrive, but in the options, there must be a way to delete stored items. I've been reluctant to use these cloud apps, as I'm concerned about where my data is actually going & how it's secured. Perhaps I need to try it out with a non-important item & see.
Now with Windows Live, this shouldn't be an issue, as MS is going nowhere in the near future. But some of these online storage apps, I just wouldn't trust.
As far as your question, do the options for the program (or items stored) show after login?
EDIT: After installing this app, & pointing my downloads to go into a folder created for them, I'm noticing a slowdown of my internet speed. I downloaded a 120MB file, which only took a minute, but it's taking longer than that to upload it to it's destination, where ever that is.
Seems that to access it from another computer, it would be the same as downloading it fresh again. My original plan was to place my downloaded items into this folder for cloud storage, it would seem a lot easier to re-download the file. That is, unless it's a paid for download & cannot access it at anytime. It's still only uploaded half of a 120MB file after 5 minutes of usage.
I'm just not sure if I want this or not, seems to be a drain on my computer.

SkyDrive is around everywhere, maybe I should have a try.

As long as you don't mind a 12 minute wait to upload a 120MB file (I installed it only to test it), & don't mind the internet speed slowdown while files are uploading, I guess it's OK.
This must be more for storing photos & documents more than anything. It seems to impractical to save large downloads there to install on other computers, it would seem to be like having to download them again. Or are the files/downloads instantly accessible (exe files), just as they would be in a folder in a Data partition? This would be my only purpose for the program, would be to store my massive collection of downloads.

I had the same problem, too. The only way to edit your documents is to edit in your windows live account. You can move and delete documents there.

I kept the account open for now, to decide what & what not to store there. It would be great to store pictures, for quick access for web posting, provided that they're backed up elsewhere (preferably on another HDD or DVD's).
I'm still leery of this cloud backup or storage, which is exactly what this is. Nothing of prime importance will go there from me.
