Hello everyone, I've installed Windows 8 CP for several weeks and enjoy it so far. Here I am just wondering is windows defender a good antivirus? Is it as good as avast or norton or any other well-known antivirus.

Windows Defender IS an AV/AM app. It is renamed from MSE of Win 7 / Win XP fame.

Short answer, an emphatic, YES! Actually, change good to, @ least, very good. It is, @ least, as good as Avast & far better than, horrid stuff, like Norton.
