Hi there,
I am asking the question because my friend tells that windows 8 consumer preview is not stable and always crash. My computer has many important files, including personal files. I am worried about it. You guys must use windows 8 for long time. Please give me suggestions. Thank you very much.
Hey guys, just stay with your Windows 7 or Windows XP.

Please read this thread! (http://www.forumswindows8.com/installation-setup/win-8-cp-not-released-os-beta-os-5355.htm) Then read all the warning posted all over the internet, and on the download sites themselves.
THIS IS A BETA OS FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY! YOU SHOULD NOT REPLACE AN EXISTING OS WITH A BETA OS!
I hope this is severe enough that you will take it to heart. If you wish to test or "play" with Win 8 CP do so on a spare HD or spare PC without affecting your main OS. That would be foolish!

Why do we have to keep saying this over and over?

Well... I suggest staying with windows 7 or XP if you dont have certain reason to upgrade windows 8. You can upgrade after the final windows 8 is released.

There is NO such thing as an upgrade to Win-8/CP !!!! It's not an upgrade OS!
It's a BETA TEST version and if you load it into a computer with an OS already on it, Win-8 will overwrite the older OS and wipe out everything on the drive. Your data files, pictures, email, EVERYTHING will be GONE.
