Hi,
I have upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 8 for days. Everything works fine on Windows Vista. I am facing a problem. I can not print PDF format files. I am able to print my documents and jpg format files from my computer. I have tested on other computer with windows 7. It's OK.
Can you please tell me how to print a .PDF file?
Thanks.

Win 8 CP is a beta OS. It is NOT fully functional. Many of the conventional PDF readers are not yet working with it. I had to switch to Foxit Reader (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/)to open my PDF files.

One word, in the first sentence worries me. "Upgraded"......... as there is NO such thing as an UPGRADE to Win-8.
If it's installed OVER an existing OS, it wipes out the original OS, and there is no Un-Install option.
It's a BETA OS that will be short lived and will completely DIE when the next version is released.
Then the only option is to reformat your hard drive and install the new version.
I sincerely HOPE you did not let Windows 8 overwrite your Vista.
If you did, I hope you have a good backup of Vista. Eh?
"Foxit Reader" is a mere fraction the size of Adobe Reader, opens much faster and does seem to work just fine on Windows 8.
If you have PDF files that you MUST open under Windows 8, I strongly urge you to download and install "Foxit Reader".
Then open all your files from the Desktop, not from the Metro UI start screen.
* There should be NO must-have programs for a Beta OS.
Good Luck Mate!

Download and install a freeware utility called PDF2Printer, and you would be able to print PDF files on Windows 8 (http://www.win8pdf.com/pdf-to-printer.html) in batch for free.

There are many 3rd party PDF readers that can be used with Win 8. I have used both Foxit Reader (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/)and PDF-Xchange Viewer (http://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-viewer)with success.

Is someone padding their post count?
The question was answered back in April.
Foxit Reader is an excellent replacement for Adobe Reader, because it's FREE, it's much smaller than Adobe Reader and it loads much faster. I share it with my customers who need to read and/or print PDF files.

Padding is possible although most posts were fairly pertinent and most questions were less than 3 months old. I did check all his posts, so for now, looks OK.

First of all let's answer your question. You can get to the options menu from any app you're using by moving the mouse to the upper right corner of the screen, or by pressing the "Windows" key and C at the same time. Once the options menu pops up, you can print by clicking on "Devices" and selecting your printer from the list. It's a little different and not very intuitive, but once you're use to it, it's no big deal. Remember, everything has been redesigned to be very interactive on a touch screen interface. This is Microsoft's attempt to take a chunk out of the mobile market, and as a Microsoft partner, I hope they have some success.
Secondly, yes you can upgrade from Vista or 7 using the retail software, but not OEM, and the upgrade process is very seamless and doesn't present registry issues that freeze up your system like the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. There are several reasons to avoid an upgrade instead of a fresh installation, but if you persist on "upgrading" then so be it. Make sure you install the 64 bit edition as it is light years faster than 32bit, and other than certain incompatible business websites and applications, of which the list is fairly short.
Thirdly, as always make sure your data is backed up before you make any major changes to your operating system. If you're not operating a computer with multiple hard drives, then you need to evaluate why, and correct this issue. None of your data should reside on your OS drive, and none of your critical data should exist in only one location. Always make sure you're backed up, and with Microsoft SyncToy and a little basic scripting, there is no reason why your data shouldn't replicate automatically without any user intervention.

you sure you upgrade to windows 8 from vista? As far as I know, only can upgrade windows 8 from windows 7, not other editions.
but for the PDF print issue, try some PDF reader tools, there is a print option in most of it. or you can use the file converter to convert PDF files into word, and then print it.
