I have been running windows 8 two weeks. Today I am using my laptop and a message told me that Windows 8 found problems and I am asked to reboot. I did. But now it does nothing and will not go through boot process. Acts like a dead laptop. I have never met such as problem since I installed Windows 8, including Windows 8 DP and Windows 8 CP.

Are you sure you do not have a Virus or Malware infection. This sounds like some kind of rootkit infection. You might want to try to reinstall. I would format the HD and reinstall directly from your DVD.
If this does not solve your problem, you could have a hardware failure. The virus would be easier to fix with a format and reinstall.

It could possibly, be some previously undiscovered incompatibility with your Laptop itself.
Like Ted, I would suggest just reinstalling Windows 8/CP and let the installer reformat the drive.
If you had made a backup image of your C: drive, when you first installed Windows 8/CP, you could just do a quick "Restore" and fix it. With NO Backup, your only recourse is a RE-Install. Sorry, that's the way it works!
Since Win-8 is a BETA, version, a temporary version for testing purposes only, you should not have any critical data files on that drive anyway.
WIN-8/CP IS A BETA OS FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY! YOU SHOULD NOT REPLACE AN EXISTING OS WITH A BETA OS!
Good Luck,

unlikely with a laptop but a long usb daisy chain can do that I found; unplug chain if there is one it may well 'just do it' then plug back in. not common...if it gets used to the hardware I think three consecutive cold boots are needed it stops doing that chit although it might again if the hardware is radically changed...which is what I got when I restrung all the usb's (same items, different chaining order). There also is some kind of cross-os cross-partition leakkage I think via the HAL, sometimes something done in one os on one partition appears to be the immediate cause of some change I discover when next I boot another os in another partition. I don't recall that before win8. But I don't fuss with the hardware per se that much so I don't really know any more than I just offered.

I tried to use a USB to LAN adapter once, on an old Compaq laptop and it would not work. The laptop was not able to deliver enough current through the USB line to power the adapter. I had to rig up a powered USB Hub to solve that problem. I promised myself that day, that the next USB Hub I buy will have its own power supply.
I recently bought a HP Wireless Mouse, for use on my Netbook. It requires NO drivers other than what comes built in to Windows. I moved it to my D'hell laptop where I just installed Win-8/CP/32 and it works just as well there.
It's definitely "Plug N Play", as are most all USB devices.
Cheers Mates!
