I am just wondering if I can use Microsoft Security Essentials with Windows 8 Consumer Preview. I have used Microsoft Security Essentials on my computer for long time. Now I upgraded to windows 8, can I continue to use Microsoft Security Essentials for my windows 8? Thanks.

Hi peny. I am sorry to say that you can not use Microsoft Security Essentials for my windows 8 because Microsoft Security Essentials cant work for windows 8. It works for Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. Also, windows 8 CP comes with windows 8 Defender and it provides the same level of malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Search windows Defender in app store and you can see it. (as the screenshot)

MSE was basically renamed Windows Defender and is installed and enabled by default in Win 8 CP.
