I'm running Windows 8 CP but its Metro applications don't start. They don’t show even the app logo and the color screen. Many people are running Windows 8 and some must have the same problem.

It definitely sounds like a corrupt install. I would do a complete Custom (Clean) install. Was this originally an Upgrade Install? Clean installs always seem to give cleaner more pristine installs. Yea, I know you have to reinstall all your apps. That's the price you pay to get an OS that works.

Did you download the iso file and burn it to DVD. If not, do so then use the DVD to Custom (Clean) install.
