Windows Audio service won't run? Error codes like 1297? Well I found the real fix!!!:D
[1] Go to Run>Type Regedit>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>Services>Audiosrv
[2] Look for RequiredPrivileges
[3] Take out "SeImpersonatePrivilege" and "SeIncreaseWorkingSetPrivilege"
[4] Press ok.
[5] Now go to Run>services.msc> Look for "Windows Audio"
[6] Double Click it. Now make sure it is on "Automatic". Then click the LogOn Tab. Make sure "This Account" Is bubbled in and Type in "Local Service" as the account. Leave the password blank.
[7] Now try to run "Windows Audio". If it runs, then find the driver you had and try to install it in "Compatibility mode" After it installs, You should no longer have An (X) Next to your audio.
I hope this helps!
If you have any errors, let me know :D
