Cannot remember how but my movies are on a network drive connected to my pc via an ethernet cable.... in win7 I used some advanced settings so that my ps3 which is connected to the router my pc is connected could detect the media server and access my movies...

Anyone help me?

thanks

mmm, ok in network sharing center > advanced settings you can set all your streaming options to ensure that the PS3 can stream to my PS3

I used the Media Player and added my network drive to the libraries in media player. I have set all the options in media player to stream.... the weird thing is that I can see and play the content on my media player on this pc but if I use an external device like my PS3 or my iPad I can see the media server and can navigate through all the folders on my media server but it picks up NO content.... NO files at all.....

weird

anyone?

I am having the exact same issue's with windows media player on Windows 8 not showing any Files from a usb Drive (In My library). I am also experiencing similar issue's with PS3 Media Server. It will work one day and not another..

has anyone resolved this Problem???

Why do Microsoft always make things difficult? I purchased an Apple TV and its a simple click from ITunes to share something. I've also got a play station 3 which I want to share other content, but have the same issues as everybody else from Windows 8. Wake up Microsoft, I've been a long time customer, but not for much longer.

personally i use tversity makes things easier but for windows media player to show things in the media server you have to have the permissions set so everyone can read the file they don't have to be shared but have to have the permissions set so the user group everyone can read, list folder contents and read& execute then the media server should start showing everything
