My pc's transfering large or small files from 7 64bit over FireWire is quite slow. I am getting 4-12 mb/second transfers. so my 45 GB steam backup is taking several hours to transfer.

does anyone know what could be causing this? i'v installed the newest drivers on my pc and the speedtest found nothing.

BTW, i am using windows 8 beta 64 bit. if you can come up a fix in this would be highly appreciated.
