I purchased a brand new Dell Studio XPS with Windows 8. I've had trouble with it from day 1 when I began setup. I'm only computer knowledgeable to get myself into trouble. I loaded on Quickbooks pro 2010, which required me to have 1 user account as aministrator, and another use account as myself, which is where I've had to load on all of my software for my peripherals. I had problems with Quickbooks performance, but have worked that out with Intuit, however, since then, every single item I've loaded on has had issues. My old HP Laserjet 4000 workhorse printer works, but will only print 1 copy at a time. My WD my book works, but refuses to copy my main programs that are imperitive that I have back of. (Quickbooks) I loaded on a brand new HP Officejet 6500 with the windows 7 CD they provided. Could get 1/2 of it working, even after a removal and reimstall. Couldn't get the software program that makes the printer/scanner/fax work by computer at all. My computer began to bog down, and give me error messages about certain programs not responding. I've since uninstalled the HP Officejet 6500, and we're working better-but I need the machine up and running to operate my home business! What's going on?

If it is a USB one, follow the steps below:

Make sure it has power and is plugged into your computer.
Make sure any driver software is installed.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling software.
Turn off your computer and re-plug everything in and turn back on.
