My Hp 1525 laptop is running windows 8 pro 64 bit and recentlyt i just found that it has been using my back up drive as the main memory holder and my C drive is almost empty. here, I want to make my Cdrive as the default drive and transfer that info to my C drive. The headache is that I do not know how to change that as a computer novice.

I know this issue has paobably come up many times in this win 8 forums so I come here for some help. thanks in advance.

You can remove Windows 8 from your new drive by formatting the new hard drive.

Go to control panel and click on the 'administrative tools' icon. In the administrative tools window click on the 'computer managment' link. This will open another window. In the computer managment window look in the left hand pane for the 'disk management' option (this will be under 'storage') and click on it. A graphical display of your drives will now appear. Right click on your new drive and, from the drop down menu, select Format. Your dirve will now be formatted.
