    Default Can't access App store

    Hi,

When I click on the App Store, the screen changes to full screen with the App Store icon in the middle. The icon and timer then move up to the top left hand corner and just stay there. This also happens with the Music and Video Apps with the only difference being the icon moves to the top of the screen. This has only happened since I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 and deleted my Windows.old folder. I've switched Kaspersky off to no avail.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Firewall would disable certain program sometimes. I did not install any antivirus software because Windows defender comes with Windows 8. Un-installing Kaspersky would fix this.

If we have to uninstall some good antivrus software so that we can use the app store, I would not like to use Windows 8.

Win 8 comes with an AV app without having to install any extra AV. Also MANY AV apps have not been updated to work properly with Win 8 yet.

In the OP's case I suspect a corrupt install. He most likely took a shortcut and tried to Upgrade his original OS to Win 8. This type installation is causing a huge number of problems when compared to the Custom install from media.

A friend advised me to just turn off the firewall in my AVG and enable the Windows firewall. Bingo...success.

    Hi

I had exactly the same problem - I removed Kaspersky 2013 and still to no avail. It also affected my skype app. What fixed it was to do a system restore to a point prior to the kaspersky installation, none of my files were affected and the result was success!
