On every Win 8 Laptop/Desktop I keep seeing this app called "About this PC" where it gives information about the system which is not the same as "Right-click on My computer, then properties"

i have tried searching over the internet and window's store but no success. Could someone please direct me to the appropriate website or download link

Had a look but I could not find either. nearest I came to was 'System Essentials ' in the store at £3.99.

If you to the app store, then charms tab, then search, type in "system information apps" and there is a lot of apps that show up to show your system information. Some are free and others have a price.
